國家簡介：

1850年後，英、法殖民者相繼入侵。1894年英國正式宣布烏國境內之布干達 ( Buganda ) 等王國為其保護地。1962年宣告獨立，1967年建立烏干達共和國。

烏干達在1966年之前的貨幣事務是由東非貨幣發行局所管理。
1966年BOU法案創建了烏干達銀行，同年發行第一套貨幣。

本系列的正面圖案皆鐫刻有烏干達國徽 ( Coat of Arms )。

↑由左至右面額分別為；1 Shilling、2 Shillings、5 Shillings、10 Shillings、50 Shillings、100 Shillings。

↑由左至右面額分別為；200 Shillings、500 Shillings、1000 Shillings。

200 Shillings -	1998年開始發行，背面圖案為魚 ( Fish )。
500 Shillings -	1998年開始發行，背面圖案為烏干達國鳥 - 灰冠鶴 ( Grey Crowned Crane )。
1000 Shillings -	本枚為烏干達獨立50週年紀念幣 ( 50th Independence Anniversary )，背面圖案為烏干達國鳥 - 灰冠鶴 ( Grey Crowned Crane )。
